Raising Aspirations 3 Fund
West Yorkshire Combined Authority are pleased to announce a third round of Raising Aspirations funding for schools and colleges.
Schools can apply for funding between £5,000 to £20,000, to design and implement a sustainable project to be delivered in the 2023/24 academic year. The project should be aimed at Year 9, 10 and 12 students from underrepresented / disadvantaged groups of your choosing. The aim of the project is to provide information, inspiration and encouragement to the students, who, due to covid restrictions, missed some key transition points in their education.
Estimates show that West Yorkshire has the potential to create over 40,000 good, new and high skilled jobs in the green economy by 2030. We need to ensure our young people are fully informed and ready for these opportunities. Therefore, your Raising Aspirations 3 project must have a Green Skills focus.
The project will provide support to achieve good careers education and strengthen engagement with employers or engagement with young role models working in Green Skilled Careers. This will help to strengthen the work schools undertake when working towards achieving Gatsby Benchmarks 2, 4, 5 and 6.
